WorkSafeBC is the regulatory body which governs the tree care industry in British Columbia.

As of May 26th 2021, WorkSafe BC’s Board of Directors approved amendments to Part 26 (Forestry Operations and Similar Activities) of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation. The amendments became effective on December 1st, 2021.

What does the WorkSafe Regulation mean for those working as Arborists?

In short, it means there are steps that are required to be taken by both the employer and the employee in order to meet regulations. These regulations have been implemented to help arborists plan their work, discuss and mitigate work site hazards, and define qualifications for tree falling activities.
